Lindos beach – St’ Paul’s Bay

The gem of Rhodes Island

The lovely village of Lindos is one of the most attractive and beautiful villages of Rhodes located south of the capital. It is dominated by a magnificent and imposing acropolis that lies on top. Lindos stands out for its fabulous location beautiful on the slopes of the hill at the top of which lies the ancient acropolis overlooking the picturesque bay.

Lindos is considered by many visitors to be the most remarkable archaeological site on Rhodes. As one drives south towards the village from the island’s north, the breathtaking natural scenery of the area with the Lindos Acropolis perched on a massive rock, the white village houses, and the crystal-clear blue waters captivates the senses and often compels one to make a complete stop.

Swim into the crystal clear waters of Lindos beaches.

On one side of Lindos cliff is the Great Yialos, the main beach of Lindos with a well organized cosmopolitan beach. Visitors will experience the wonderful sensation of swimming in clear waters, marvelling over them the whitewashed village and castle, which dominate the hill. The beach is surrounded by restaurants serving fresh seafood, cafés and canteen

A dreamlike area directly at the back of Lindos, is Saint Paul’s bay, which has clear waters, rocks, and two small beaches. In the small enclosed harbour of St. Paul there are facilities such as umbrellas, deckchairs and a quaint restaurant by the sea. The beach although small, it is crowded with people during the summer months. At one end of the bay, the small chapel of Saint Paul recalls the visit of Apostle Paul to Lindos. It is believed that St. Paul came here in the year 51 AD to teach Christianity to the Rhodians. The beautiful small church built on the hillside to the right of the bay is also a very popular wedding location.

St. Pauls Bay is known for it`s picturesque scenery and a stunning view towards the rock on which the Lindos Acropolis stands, it`s golden fine sand and the turquoise waters.
